AkarakA Limited is a non-profit organization that targets under-privileged children and young adults who wish to pursue their studies at the tertiary level. These individuals usually do not continue to the tertiary phase of their education as they lack the financial means, or need to start work to support their families. Its mission is to help these under-privileged young adults secure a formal education by form of donations from individuals or corporations. As a partner, Techsailor was tasked to develop an online community platform for donors to contribute as well as interact with the volunteers.

Objective

Understanding the need for communal engagement, AkarakA wishes to tap on the ubiquity of online social networks to allow users to donate online as well as engage in fruitful discussions with volunteers, without concern for boundaries. More importantly the platform will be positioned to offer transparency by informing users how contributions are distributed and accounted for.

Solution

With the objective in mind, the scope of this project starts from the development of the AkarakA web portal using Techsailor’s proprietary customer community platform (TSCC). The website is positioned as a charity portal for organizations and corporations to support educational causes while engaging their employees to volunteer their services for the chosen beneficiaries. This web portal is also served as a community portal to inform, educate and allow members to donate and volunteer their services to various educational causes.
