Mika is proud to be the first Filipino in Techsailor. A combination of love for travel, passion, impulsiveness and luck brought Mika from the Philippines to Singapore. Not a stranger to living in a foreign country, Mika spent six months in San Francisco where she discovered her enjoyment of living abroad as well as the love of her life - Designing.
Since her childhood, Mika has already known that she would do something art related. She just didn't know in which field, specifically. In college, she realized that she had a calling for graphic design when she helped out with making posters for a film organization. Two years later, she became the Creative Director of that organization. Since then, she has gone through several ups and downs which have made her into the designer she is today.
Mika considers herself to be more of an art director than a designer because she believes that a design without an idea will fail. Mika enjoys working on personal projects (mostly inspired by films) to constantly fuel her imagination. In fact, one of Mika’s posters has been tweeted by a CNN news anchor! You can check out her works at her blog: hailmika.tumblr.com.
Aside from dreams of winning an Art Directors Club Young Guns award, Mika also wishes to become a production designer someday.
